Daniel Dugas
was born in Montréal and graduated with an MFA in Time Arts from
the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was an artist in residence
at the Banff Centre both in the Visual Arts and in the Music Department,
at Sculpture Space in New York, and recently at EMMEDIA in Calgary,
2003. Upon completing his residency at EMMEDIA, he exhibited the interactive
network installation: do_wild_loops; do_wild_jumps; [big ceo’s
talking to small bugs]. For several years, his practice has evolved
around themes of Economy, and issues of Power. Boom or bust economies,
mechanisms of exchange, the rise and the collapse of opportunities,
all are elements that he has used to explore the nature of wealth. |
